The Atlasia National Holiday Act
This great forum was created on October 28, 2003. This act would proclaim that date to be a national holiday called Dave Day in the country of Atlasia. No formal procedings would be required  take place, except the government would be encouraged to recognize it, and the President would be expected to make a speech commemorating the occasion. It would also be an occasion to thank Dave for creating and keeping up the Forum. The same procedure would take place on April 23, as we celebrate Consitution Day.

Things this holiday needs:
A good name, like Dave Day, or Foundation Day.
A traditional dish, like some sort of pie or cooked animal.
And maybe a mascot.

Dave Day?

Why don't we let the people choose their own traditions for it, it isn't the government's job to make the traditions.

I think we should have two traditional holidays, the anniversary of Forum creation (Dave Day) and that of ratification of the constitution (Leip Day). Traditional dishes would be Elephant Steak and "Donkey Dick" (a cheap sausage IIRC).

"Donkey dick"Huh  LOLOLOLOL

Thats rather vulgar, I think.

We should create the holiday.  Dave Day sounds good.

Next we need a convoluted Holiday backstory that somehow involves presents. Like, every Dave Day, Dave flies around Altasia on a magic...um...Ford Pinto. If you leave...jerkey...out for him, he'll hide presents in your yard, inside bottles.

Then we design a suit for him to wear, so every Dave Day season we can have Dave Impersonators at the mall.

Is anyone opposed to this? If not, I put forth a motion to commence with debate, and begin voting early.

Tomorrow is the end of the one week of debate according to the Procedure Act.

As one of the original signers of the constitution, I demand that Constitution Day's official food shall be Chicken Rice-a-Roni Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
