Into independent nations? This came up in another thread.

Here's mine. Alaska would be with the libertarian-minded states (Arizona, Wyoming). Hawaii would be an independent nation.

The Confederate States would probably fast become the richest country. The United States would probably crumble pretty soon for lack of cultural identity.

California, of course, would become like Europe, by tyranical rule of a couple cities. Wisconsin just becomes a mediocre country.

Previously I posted a map redividing at the county level. It's based on Garreau's Nine Nations of North America. I'll copy it here, since it generally fits the theme. Note that each "country" is divided into "states".

Eastern Minnesota, western Wisconsin and eastern Iowa should be combined. Western Iowa and Minnesota should be combined with eastern Dakotas and Nebraska. Western Dakotas and Nebraska should be combined.

I understand your thinking, but there isn't enough population in the western parts of the Dakotas and Nebraska to form a state. ND+SD+NE have about 3.2 million, and I didn't want to create any states with less than 2.5 million people.

"There you go again"

You are automatically assuming again that all Christians are non-secularists.

Well, just to be on the safe side - off to South Carolina with the lot!

I like this arrangement:

I think that this would move the Blue area to a possition very close to mine politically.  I included some more Liberal states such as IL, Maryland, Michigan and Washington, because I wouldn't want the country to swing to far right.  Given this arrangement, the new Blue country would be just right of center and the "New Politics" would form around that center.

The new Red country would be a Social Democrats paradise until they taxed the Hell out off all sources of revenue and are invaded by Quebec.

California would just sort of exist.

I did North America minus Mexico. I'm not too sure about my Toronto/Chicago country or the one w/ CO and NE or quite a few others.

However, I am positive that Washington and Oregon would never go with California. Never!!!

California is very conservative except for two cities.

The solution is to require 1/5 on acre of land to vote. I'm telling you, it works...

And I'm telling you that many people living in major cities own 1/5 acre and if you wanted to take control away from the cities you should increase it to like 20 acres.

But like I said, you just want suburbanites (basically city dwellers) to be able to vote but not people who don't believe in cutting down trees and destroying farmland just so they can have their tiny backyard and spend 2 hours a day in a car polluting the air and get away from minorities.

Not this one. Phillip's is better. The county divided states is best though.
