One of the assignments given to students at various war colleges is the drafting of a complete deployment and execution of a strategy for an all out war between the United States and another country (generally without regard to current geopolitical status).

Inspired by this, and my recent interest in the United States Color Coded War Plans of the 1920's and 30's, I thought it might be a fun for each of us to try our hand at this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Color-coded_War_Plans

Here is how it would work, I would assign each person a scenario.  I would give everyone a few weeks to come up with something.  Then each person would post their scenario, complete with maps and then each person who drafted a plan would grade the others.  Best plan wins, and we would get some really fun discussions out of it.

Anyone interested?

Might be worth a shot. Do you have links to websites etc that could be of use for 'first timers'?

I would be a first timer myself.  I'll dig up some helpful links, if we get some people on board.

The scenarios are likely to range between the quite possible to the utterly wacky, I will tell you that much... India vs Pakistan (playing as Pakistan), Great Britain invades Ireland, etc.

It sounds pretty fun. I am also pleased by the lengthy time frame - even if I'm busy, if we've got a couple of weeks to prepare a report, it shouldn't be too much trouble.

I think I would want at least 10 people before we got going.

The best part about this game is that you guys won't have to worry about me, because after I formulate the scenarios you won't have to worry about me following up on anything else.

How long of a report are we talking here? Before I commit myself to anything.

Sounds like we have adequate interest.  Give me a bit of time, here, because I am running into another busy couple weeks.  I will have something for you guys here soon.
