OMFG I AM IN TASTE HEAVEN

http://www.recipesource.com/ethnic/asia/hawaiian/00/rec0001.html
I just made that during this process + some local specialty Pineapple-flavored olive oil from NoCal.  Delish.  That stupid Salmon cost over twenty bucks but he's paying me back via taste buds this very moment.

Damn, I got stuck with four McChickens.  I have them swap the mayo for tartar.  It's really tasty, but not enough to make me do this...

I've never made my own salsa but I want to roll around and bathe in it.

What? I'm supposed to say something cool about Obama?  I think he's cool with his shades on.

He's the coolest when doing behind the scenes stuff that the government doesn't tell us about.

Well, regarding Jindal's response perhaps Ed Rollins summed it up better than anyone: ''It was a good night for Sarah Palin''.

Obviously. Ingredients from NoCal = automatic delicacy.

The speech was good, I realized Lieberman's head looks like a balloon when the camera was on him for a few seconds. And his policies make me happy. Smiley

- Some of us are skeptical that Republicans really fell away from a believe system.  Instead it appears that Republican ideology is grounded in a view that government is bad, thus when in power they live that view and govern poorly.

I don't really understand what you're saying here.  How did they live the view that "government is bad" when they, in fact, expanded government?

And I dont understand what you are saying.
How are a view that "government is bad" and using power to expand government incompatible?

I didn't get a chance to watch it.  I'll watch it on FOX at the airport or something today.

Because why would you want to expand something that you inherently view as "bad"?  I think I'm missing something here.

I watched the first five minutes of it. I didn't think he was that bad. These response speeches are always awful because of the format. Yes, he sounded like Kenneth, and yes, the speech itself was lame, but I'm sure he'll be back.

I'm not explaining it well.

In some motivational coaching there is an emphasis on using positive visualization techniques.  The  idea being that if you mentally focus on the successful outcome, you will find the path to success [http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1365/is_4_33/ai_93307102]

I'm suggesting that visualization may work in a negative fashion too: if your mental model is that power always corrupts and bureaucracies are inherently inept, how will you perform when the power and administration are in your hands?

I thought it was a good speech.  He did a fine job, and was able to clearly get his messages across.  I focused more on the reactions, applause lines, etc.  I, for one, was touched by the reception that Ginsburg got when she entered the Chamber.

I thought Jindal was okay.  He didn't seem to have much charisma, although that might be because he was speaking alone, to a camera, with nobody else there.  It was a better night, certainly, for Obama than it was for the GOP.

He claims he was remarking about the setting of Jindal's video and thought it was supposed to be like a mockery of the West Wing or something

I actually thought it might've been because Jindal didn't have his jacket buttoned.   But whateva.

As for Jindal's speech...  He needs to step his teleprompter game up, and not speak with the cadence and delivery of a kindergarten teacher.  He reminded me of Ms. Lippy in Billy Madison

He should just do what David Paterson does and man up.  Especially for the speech of your career.

Is "man up" slang for "snort a line of blow" now?

That would help, but I was thinking memorizing your speech.  Hell, I doubt Obama was relying on a teleprompter and his speech was longer.  But coke could help Jindal loosen up, yeah
