It looks as if Arlen Specter has found that he could win re-election more easily as a Democrat than as a Republican in 2010. Democrats have had a strong positive view of him.

Pat Toomey, by trying to do the dirty ideological work of the GOP, has just ensured the election of someone that he wanted to defeat in the Senatorial Primary.

Specter isn't safe.  He could still lose, and his numbers aren't great.

I think Arlen will win, yet again.  It is Pennsylvania, a relatively blue state.  Besides, Specter didn't really belong in the Republican Party, and he admitted that, too.  I've heard some Republicans say that the party will be better without him.

He doesn't belong to the Democratic party either.

I would beg to differ.  He has voted against the democratic position many times on crucial issues and with the exception of his stimulus vote he has opposed pretty much every other Democratically sponsored legislation that mattered.  I can only imagine what happens if we make the big mistake and let him stay in the senate after the '10 elections.

Specter sucks, but he'll probably win re-election, even though he'll probably still be to the right of Casey. Pennsylvania certainly has sh**tty Senators for being 2 Democrats.

You only have yourselves to blame for it.

Neither am I. I am a former PA resident though and was born there. I was refering to Democrats as a whole should blame themselves. Your 2004 candidate was so horrible his last name rhymed with a synonym of terrible.
