Why do people vote for the Tunisian guy? (Zine, etc, Ben Ali). Like the other Maghreb countries Tunisia seems fairly well-managed. The Wikipedia-article seems a fair bit slanted, but if the facts are true we're talking about the most economically free, least islamist and most gender-equal arab country in the world. While the wiki-article tries to cover it, it seems like a dictatorship, but not a totalitarian one.

Yemen on the other hand is a nasty, back-wards little country where girls can marry at the age of nine.

Ethiopia seems worse though. There's a guy who looks like the devil and stands accused of genocide.

I vote for Meles Zenawi this time.

My grudge against the country began in 2004 when they banned all pictures of John Kerry from the media.

Banning headscarves (in parts of the country) does not make rights for women... quite the opposite, in fact.

You're right that Ethiopia is worse.

Maybe you missed the discussion where I argued precisely that a week or so ago. Needless to say, that wasn't really what I was referring to.

Oh, and I vote for Saleh. Girls enter puberty at age 9, my ass.
