Right, we know he won't run but Super is saying he only entertained it to keep the focus off Specter and to set up an endorsement of Toomey (which doesn't seem likely after his Hardball appearance tonight)

So, my sources got it wrong.  It happens.  His initial statement sounded supportive.

It seems weird though that Ridge won't say that he'd vote for Toomey over the Democrat, despite staying silent in the primary.  How hard is it to say "I'll vote for whoever we nominate"


I think the national party is panicking in light of recent general election polling.  I mean, they've recently ran robocalls against Sestak and indirectly praising Specter....

That's another issue with the (at one time potential) Ridge candidacy that I noted before - I think Ridge and Specter like each other.
