And no, this is a CNN poll, not Fox.

Bush hasn't done anything, but Cheney certainly has stuck his neck out there recently. He's giving a big foreign policy speech as well.

After today's jobs report, Obama's good will with me has finally ended, so I find it hilarious that Cheney's approvals are increasing after he's gone on the attack.

meh i still hate the son of a bitch, but im not liking anybody anymore and i wouldnt be surprised to hate obama in a few years.
though i cant see why you would care about th jobs report it was quite expected with the plant closures from Chrysler going into bankruptcy and gm nearing it which was gonna happen whether or not obama was elected. less there is something else im missing.

Mostly because we are spending $780 billion to supposedly keep our unemployment under 10% and jump start things, yet we've seen no signs of a slowing in layoffs yet. It may change, but right now the stimulus appears to be ineffective at improving things. We'll wait and see how it turns out. All we saw today was a record in layoffs. Not good if you're the President.

It doesn't matter how much it rises, the GOP needs to cut this piece of deadwood adrift and it puzzles me greatly why they haven't

America loves Dick Cheney!  (Not really, but they should.)  A 37% approval rating isn't that bad in this environment.  I think he'd be the perfect 2012 candidate.

Yes, the Republicans need to become more like Democrats! Anyways, Dick Cheney was 100% on target with his speech today.

I missed it.

The Republican Party CAN send its least popular figureheads out of the public spotlight, I don't see why that is a partisan issue.

57% unfavorability?  Reminds voters of the Bush years?  Awesome.

Did his approvals have anywhere else to go?  Once the recession ends - whenever that happens - weather vane voters will ease up on their hatred for Bush/Cheney.  I doubt that they will ever be remembered as fondly as Reagan and Clinton are now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see their favorability ratings at 50%, give or take.

eh it seems its just because hes not in office anymore bushs approvals are up aswell it says and he hasnt done anything as of recently. i think it happens to almost all ex presidents after they leave.though cheney maybe is getting a little more support for being the way he is from republicans.

The only president whose ratings dropped after leaving office were Clinton's, and those rebounded once people forgot about Marc Rich, that cocaine trafficker, and those Weather Underground members.

Fascism is always popular during depressions.  But Cheney's a little too old and feeble to be our next dictator.
