Did anybody watch today's debate?  I'd like to hear your reactions.

Little late on the response, but....

I thought it stunk !

CBS really blew it. First an hour is not enough time. That woman from the NY Times was a complete idiot, IMHO...

The biggest thing I have not liked about all these debates is, they are not debates, they are meet the press type things. My idea of a debate is one candidate asking the other what his/her plan is to solve a problem and whatnot. Everytime Kucinich tries to do this, they fluff it off.

Okay, I'll bite.  I also like the oxford-style man-to-man debate, but we junkies will take what we can get.

First, I thought Edwards was surprisingly aggressive with Kerry.  ("he's dead wrong!")  In fact, all the candidates showed some spine.  On the other hand, it was in the usual vague terms, e.g., "John, how are you gonna take on 'special interests'?"

And I'm sure it's the first time I've ever heard Dennis Kucinich say "what the president is advocating is the right thing to do."  That kinda made me wet.  Oh, and I, for one, liked the way he went after kerry.

As usual, Al Sharpton is the only American candidate who hasn't lost the gift of oratory.  I'd pay money to hear him talk.

who won?  well, who knows?  all in all, it was the usual free-for-all and the moderation was very weak.  Where's Tim Russert when you need him?

whadda you think, miami?

I think a Hardball style debate would be better than a Meet the Press style.
