In March 2006, the US Constitution is amendmended so that non-US born citizens can run for President.

This will be a timeline of the Republican Primaries and General Election in 2008, with Arnold Schwarzenegger running. The Democratic Primaries go the same as in Real Life.

Jan 30 2007 - Mitt Romney announces his candidacy on Meet the Press.

Feb 3 2007 - Rudy Giuliani announces his candidacy.

Feb 6 2007 - Ron Paul announces his candidacy on CNN.

Feb 8 2007 - Mike Huckabee announces his candidacy.

Feb 10 2007 - A big announcment from President Bush. He declares the Iraq War is over and all the troops will be home by Summer 2008.

Feb 14 2007 - Tom Tancredo announces his candidacy.

Arnie picks Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate!





Not a big suprise, Arnie needed to pick a conservative running mate to get more support from the base of the Republican Party.

Obama picks Congressman Ron Paul as his running mate!



Wow, this is a huge suprise, no one expected this. All the Ron Paul supporters on the internet who previously hated Obama are now chanting "Obama/Paul 08!". Most Democrats seem to be ok with Ron Paul as Obama's running mate, mainly because Paul is a big opponent of the Iraq War.

Arnie involved in same-sex marriage scandal!

In an interview on Hardball with Chris Matthews, Arnie was asked if he supported same-sex marriage, he said yes, even though it had been revealed on the internet that he promised a leader of a Christian organization that he would support a ban on same-sex marriage nationwide.

Welcome to Election Night 2008!
It has been a rollercoaster campaign between Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Senator Barack Obama. Now, Election Night is here. It looks like it's going to be a very tense night.

It's 7PM and we are prepared to call the following states:

Let's take a look at the electoral map.

At 7:30PM the polls close in the battleground states of Ohio and West Virginia, and at 8PM the polls close in many states, including the big battlegorund states of Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

It is now is 7:30PM, and the polls have closed in the battleground states of Ohio and West Virginia. However, we are not yet able to make a projection in either of these states. Remember, a Republican has never won the Presidency without Ohio. Schwarzenegger will be hoping to win both of these states.

8PM - The polls have closed in 16 states. Let's go through them.

In Alabama, a strongly Republican state, Schwarzenegger is projected to win

In Connecticut, a fairly safe Democratic state, it was actually close earlier in the campaign, but Obama pulled away, and we are projecting that he will win it.

In Delaware, no suprises here, Obama is projected to win.

In Illinois, Obama's home state, we are projecting that it will vote for it's Senator in this Presidential race.

In Maine, it is too close to call at this time. The polls have showed a very close race there throughout this campaign.

In Maryland, Obama is projected to win, again no suprise.

In Massachusetts, perhaps one of the least suprising projections so far, Obama is projected to carry Massachusetts.

In Michigan, it's too close to call. Schwarzenegger has made some inroads in the last few weeks of this campaign, can he pull off than upset there? We shall see.

In Mississippi, it is too early to call. This does not mean it's going to be close, it means we do not have enough votes to look at yet to make a projection.

In Missouri, it's too close to call. This is no suprise as the polls have been close there for a while.

In New Jersey, it's too close to call. This is a bit of suprise as the polls showed a big lead for Obama, but we are saying it's too close to call.

In New Hampshire, it's also too close to call. Again, no suprise, the polls were close here too.

In Florida, again, it's too close to call. This state of course decided the 2000 Presidential Election.

In Pennsylvania, another one of the real battleground states, it's too close to call.

In Oklahoma, we are projecting to the suprise of no one that Arnold Schwarzenegger will carry it.

In Tennessee, it's too close to call, although the Schwarzenegger campaign team are confident of winning here.

In Virginia, it's too close to call. A Democrat hasn't won this state in the Presidential race since LBJ in 1964.

In Washington DC, the least suprising result of the night so far, Obama is projected to win it.

In Georgia, it's too early to call, again this does not mean it's going to be close, although it could.

In South Carolina, we are projecting that Schwarzenegger will carry it.

And finally, in Vermont, no suprise at all here, Obama is projected to win.


Now let's take a look at the Electoral Map at this hour. The states in blue are Schwarzenegger states, the states in red are Obama states, the states in green are states where the polls have closed, but we are not yet able to make a projection, and the grey states are where the polls are still open.

9PM - This is Brian Williams reporting the election returns on this historic Election Night in 2008 on NBC News. The polls have now closed in another 15 states. Let's take a look at them.

In New York, we are projecting that Obama will carry the Empire State. No suprise at all.

In Rhode Island, again no suprise, a very safe Democratic state, Obama is projected to win it.

In Kansas, one of the safest Republican states in the union, Schwarzenegger is projected to win it.

In Louisiana, used to always vote Democratic in Presidential Elections, it has become a fairly safe Republican state in recent years, Schwarzenegger is projected to win it.

In Minnesota, it's too close to call. The Obama campaign team said they were going to carry this state, they may well do, we shall see as the night goes along.

In Nebraska, Schwarzenegger is projected to carry this state. Another very safe Republican state.

In New Mexico, it's too close to call. This has become a Democratic-leaning state in recent years, will it vote for the Democratic candidate tonight? We shall see.

In South Dakota, Schwarzenegger is projected to win it. South Dakota hasn't voted for a Democrat in a Presidential Election, since LBJ's landslide over Barry Goldwater in 1964.

In Texas, it's too close to call. This was a very safe state for Schwarzenegger until Obama picked Ron Paul as his running mate. This will be a state to watch as the evening goes along.

In Wyoming, another unsuprising projection, Schwarzenegger carries it.

In Wisconsin, it's also too close to call. This has been a battleground state in the last two elections, and it's proved to be one again this time.

In Colorado, it's too close to call. This state has become more moderate in recent years, and many think that Obama has a real chance of carrying Colorado tonight.

In Arizona, it's too close to call. This is of course the home state of two-time Presidential Candidate, Senator John McCain, who campaigned a lot for Schwarzenegger during this campaign.

We can now join the Chairman of the DNC, and former Governor of Vermont, Howard Dean, who is in Chicago right now.



Brian Williams - Hello Chairman Dean. What do you make of the night so far?

Howard Dean - Well, i'm pleased so far. We have carried states that we needed to have, and we are doing well in Ohio and Florida. I'm feeling good about this.

Brian Williams - Ok. What do you think Senator Obama needs to have in order to get to 270 tonight?

Howard Dean - Well he needs to obviously take Ohio or Florida, and i think Texas would seal it. But who knows? The smaller states in the Midwest and the West could decide it. We feel great about California too. I think the majority of the American people know that they can't afford another Republican Adminstration, and it's showing in the numbers we....

Brian Williams - I'm sorry Chairman Dean, i have to interrupt you for a second. We are projecting that the state of Minnesota will go for Senator Obama. This is of course a battleground state. Chairman Dean, what do you make of this?

Howard Dean - Well that's great news for us Brian. Minnesota was close for most of the campaign and we are glad that it's voted for us.

9:16PM - We have a big projection to make. The state of Pennslyvania will go for Seantor Obama. This is an important win for Obama, a state that he really needed to have.

Before we look at the electoral map, let's look at the returns so far in some of the the too close to call states.

9:34PM - We are now calling North Carolina for Schwarzenegger. This is usually a safe Republican state in Presidential Elections, Senator John Kerry didn't come anywhere near to winning it in 2004 despite choosing North Carolina Senator John Edwards as his running mate, but it was a toss up state towards the end of the campaign, but according to our projection, it has voted Republican again.
