Why don't you post Kerry and Edwards voting attendance record while you are at it?
Who cares? They were busy running for President / VP.

Well, wasn't their Senate attendance record Cheney's point?

Cheney said that he'd never met Edwards before. That seemed like a pretty stupid statement to say. Of course Cheney has met Edwards. Edwards and Kerry have been very active for most of their Senate career, and have still made a lot of the important votes even when they were busy running for President/Vice President.

You're ignoring the thrust of his point because his point is true - Kerry and Edwards have not been doing their job.

You seem to need a little more context to help you understand the larger picture Cheney was painting of Edwards....so here is the full quote:

your thoughts.

i think cheney does better than expected.  in the end, i dont think the debate will matter much.

i like cheney (a lot).  and i hope he shows no mercy on mr. populist.

With 20 minutes to go in this "debate" I would say that Edwards is kicking Cheneys' butt.

This is about the first time I would have to totally disagree with you.

Cheyney is the clear winner.

No clear winner. Both had their highs and their lows.

The debate won't have any impact.

Cheney needed to destroy Edwards. He didn't.

Edwards needed to keep up with Cheney. He did.

What is the most interesting about the debate is it just showed what a complete moron Bush is. Cheney was times better than Bush. On Friday when people compare Bush to Cheney, they will realize it.

The democratic ticket keeps scoring points.

Roles are reversed from what they used to be 10 days ago. The Big Mo is with Kerry/Edwards thus Bush needs a clear victory on Friday. Anything less than a clear and convincing victory will move the election into 'like father like son - one term and you're done' teritory.

I think that just about sums it up. I've given the debate to Edwards because he was better on domestic issues than what Cheney was on foreign issues.

I agree it was far from a decisive debate. Both held their ground and met expectations. Both Democrats and Republicans have reason to smile.

John Edwards couldn't remeber the rules in the debate and kept screwing up.  Either he simply isn't good at following rules, or he simply wasn't paying much attention.  Or he didn't care about the rules.  And when he did screw up, he'd smile and utter some foolish "Oops, I did it again" line in his dumb sounding Southern boy accent.

He's been portrayed as positive, but he wasn't positive about anything last night.  He's been portrayed as a good debater; he wasn't.  He failed to successfully challenge Cheney on *anything* last night.  Every time Edwards attempted to challenge the administration, he was shot down with whatever Cheney responded with.  He took cheap shots, he was extremely negative.

That said, Cheney was also extremely negative, and he took many cheap shots.  The biggest difference is Cheney had more facts to back up his cheap shots and negativity.  Another difference is Cheney's remarks were far more memorable than anything Edwards said.  Cheney came across as incredibly knowledgeable on the issues, very smooth... he didn't waffle on questions as President Bush did.

This debate was easily Cheney's.  That said, I don't think it'll help his ticket much.  I've already called this election to Kerry/Edwards.
