So the question is, will running against Bush work now that he's out of office? And, will Republicans countering it by saying Democrats are looking to the past be successful?

I don't think anyone is going to try it.  If they do then they deserve to lose.  Democrats in 2010 will be running on helping Obama and removing Republican obstructionists.  They've already begun targeting specific Republicans who have opposed popular Obama plans.  Bush is a non-issue at this point, IMO.

If things are bad, I can see them doing it and I can also see it blowing up in their face. It would be hilarious to watch.

Probably. As of now, the Democrats do not have anything positive to run on during their time in office, except an increase in unemployment to numbers Obama promised we'd never see with his stimulus.

Are you freaking serious?  You do realize that it takes a while for the stimulus to work its way through the economy, right?

If it works anywhere, it will work in Ohio where Portman managed the budget and the trade policies, probably some of the least two popular aspects of the Bush administration among moderates.

Next, look at Reid and Dodd, who are not popular but are running in blue states (Nevada is de facto blue just because of Reid's head start).

Let's see what happens in the next 12 months or so first.

Democrats will be running against the party of NO in '10.  The party that said no to the stimulus plan and to healthcare reform.

Depends from the race.
Like Portman, if Hastert's son or Andy Card run for Congress, then expect the full Bush treatment.

Otherwise I don't see it happening.

I don't think they'll run explicitly against Bush, except in deep blue states and against Portman. But certainly, if things improve markedly, then the implicit juxtaposition between the failure of Bush + Republicans and the successes of Obama + Democrats will be made.

Absolutely. Why did the administration go on a media blitz claiming that we could collapse without it? They also made the claim that we would not see unemployment rates of 10% or more if we passed the bill.

If you check the statistics, we will be at 10% in due time. So either they lied to us or they are clueless. Which is it?

Yeah, which was why the stimulus money is being spread out over many years and a lot of it is going to fradulent organizations like ACORN.

Anyone who says that the stimulus was anything other than a ploy to grow government by using fear tactics is an idiot.

Ok, child, that's not an answer. The GOP is running against a Stimulus plan that might not have worked so, again, what's your point?

George W. Bush's administration funded ACORN.

You have yet to answer the question. The fact that you think they'll run against "the party of NO" doesn't mean they won't run against Bush. Care to try this again?

So you're refusing to answer a very, very simple question (which you claimed to have already answered but clearly didn't) and I'm pathetic?

Just humor a pathetic person like myself and answer again, please. I'm just so stupid that I need it addressed twice.
