Hey folks...don't know if this is old news or not, but I just noticed this today. Federal polling division boundaries are finally available to us peons through GeoGratis, if you have a GIS program. They go back to 2000.

Have at it everyone!

Just for sh**ts and giggles...my home riding of Fredericton in 2008 (or at least the parts that actually matter):

Surprised there was such a strong northside-southside split in the city. The biggest Liberal area on the northside is the St. Mary's First Nation, and that large NDP poll is the area around UNB.

As expected, the Tories dominated the military town of Oromocto.

I had to manually add the results and wrote a script to colour the map.

Joliette....a map of second place may have been more interesting.

There's actually a Conservative poll in the city, but it's so small you can barely see it.

I believe this qualifies as locally polarized....Edmonton-Sherwood Park:

What this map doesn't show is that in most of the Edmonton polls, the indy James Ford actually came *5th*.

Gatineau:

Is there another riding in the country where 4 parties won at least 1 poll?

Anyway...I'll be away this weekend so this will be my last map for a few days.

5 maps in one! (Yeah, I know someone else already did one of them, but a big blank spot just doesn't look right)

Winnipeg:

EC actually says a First Nations Party candidate won a poll in Winnipeg Centre with 46 votes to Pat Martin's 3...yeah right. It's probably a repeat of that time in 2000 when the networks showed the Marxists-Leninists leading one of the Mississauga seats for a while.

Yeah...those tower blocks (poll #s in the 400s) are a seperate file that I haven't bothered with yet.

Here's a very interesting riding that (I think) hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread...Guelph:

The NDP won a poll in Wakefield last time, but they lost it. Weird that they won a poll in Angers.

They won a poll in Cantley too, you can see it if you pull up the large version.
