Hey, I'm game.

Parnell may be The One. I look forward to his time as Governor. I really think he could be a dark horse for 2012.

If Parnell has the desire to do it, he can embody what it means to be a fresh face in 2012. Sure, he had a lot of people urging him to take on Young in 2008 but that still takes a lot. That being said, challenging Don Young and running for President aren't exactly on the same level.  Tongue

He also obviously has to be relatively successful as Governor, too.

Could you imagine if this guy became the nominee or at least had a real shot at it? And we all thought his successor was the only dark horse to break out of Alaska...

No, this actually is a stupid thread.

Sad

Parnell is nationally known by conservative Republican politicos (including powerful Republican groups) after his run against one of the GOP's least favorite figures.

If the people aren't satisfied with a field of "also ran in 2008" candidates, lesser known candidates like Parnell might be our only choice.

His name is known, but he is not well known.

But he doesn't need to be well known yet. Mike Huckabee wasn't all that well known in 2007.

If he can make himself the outsider choice, sure but he might not even need that much to challenge Romney. Romney proved in 2008 that throwing tons of money doesn't always mean victory.

GILFs are, by definition, MILFs

subset, baby!

What about a hypothetical hot governor who doesn't have kids?

Haha, he was reading GILF (as I was) as "Grandmother." I guess it works for "Governor," too.

Why is this being discussed before the guy has even taken office? How do we know what type of governor he'll be?

I believe I acknowledged that he has yet to take office and we have to see how he governs/what accomplishments he racks up. I said assuming he was a good Governor and he kept himself in the good graces of the groups that loved him last year, would he stand a chance at being a dark horse.
