Good job, Mr. President.  I thought the court came to the wrong conclusion, and Justice Opebo refused to explain his ruling when I asked.

(sigh)

Reading the Constitution, this type of move could lead to interesting litigation down the road.

Of course, maybe I'm wrong.  Especially since no one ever seems much interested in reading the Constitution.

Certainly not! I didn't think such a case would interest you, since it's not another opportunity for you to justify your homophobia in wordy legalese.

Comments like this really aren't worth a dignified response.

But I'm also not going to go around whining like a loser and deleting people's posts on my own forum because of it.

How so, Justice Sam?

I'm afraid my duty as a potential judge to such litigation forbids me to say much more than what I already have.

And even though I have to get in my small jabs here and there, the preceding words are merely an attempt to be helpful and to point out some issues before they arise.

I know exactly what he is talking about. It has to remain one of these unspoken things though - the more you know, the guiltier you are.

I believe Sam and Peter are hinting to the question of, "Where does the President derive his power to pardon?"

As far as I can tell, I can't find the executive power to pardon in the Constitution.

Thank you Mr. President, I have been very busy as of late, but I really do want to get back into the swing of things. I may not be able to be on like I use to, but it will most likely be at least once a day.

That isn't strictly accurate.  I told you that you had not the right to an explanation, but it was as it appeared - the argument of the prosecution was the one that I accepted.

Does the health care bill replace Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP?

If not, I have a few concerns.

I don't know about SCHIP but I did author an amendment that phased out Medicare and Medicaid and transfers the funding and personnel from those programs to the new health care program.

c. Funding for this proposal shall be drawn from the following sources:
•   Cost reductions in other federal health programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, as a result of administrative and cost savings and shifts in funding priorities
•   Taxes levied on health insurance benefits as follows: 0.5% for incomes below 250% the poverty level; 2% for incomes between 250% the poverty level and $250,000; 3.5% for incomes between $250,001 and $1,000,000; and 5% for incomes above $1,000,000.

Coulda sworn that was my amendment. Wink Or was I only the second clause there?

No I was just including the part that acknowledged drawing funding from said programs.

But you wouldn't explain why.  I still think Franzl won that case for Devilman.  I wanted to know where his legal arguments were flawed, and you refused to explain.  Call it what you will.

I'll be giving a sort of "state of the union" address on Monday on the economic crisis and my agenda for the next Senate. Tune in.

I am having a very hard time getting on to the internet, since the internet in my apartment is not working (and has not been working for the past day), so I may not be able to log on regularly for a bit.

It would also greatly help me, as I plan to release some sort of stimulus funds release data next week.
