Freedom state.  Don't base your opinion of Alaska on its politicians or the conservative nature of its populace.  There's only like 700,000 of them...

It's wilderness clearly dwarfs its people.. you'd be a little paranoid with a strong belief in self-sufficiency too if the outdoors were constantly working to kill you.

Arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Are there any sane Alaskans?  The place seems to generate more than its share of nutters in any event. I mean in this last cycle we got Palin and Gravel to take a spin with us. Need I say more?

Not my fault.  Snowguy posted a picture of penguins (I see he changed it).

And you wonder why liberals like me support the Endangered Species' Act?  Because in Alaska, sanes are on the list right after the sea turtle and right before the sea lion.

A beautiful state.  Why must we judge states based off their politics?

How else would we be able to pass swift and arbitrary judgment?

A state with huge FS potential. Just close the army bases, deport the Anchorage suburbs back to Texas and cede Ketchikan to Canada.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Alaska would be the most FS of all, if only it was uninhabited.

Maybe we should judge BRTD's state based upon Governor "The Body"?

Or Governor T'Pau?

I guess some of us actually prefer Ventura...
