4. Russ Feingold

Al Franken will undoubtedly hit this list in time, though, after some accomplishments.

Sanders and Feingold are by far the best senators.  Snowe is the only sane republican.  Menendez who is a favorite of mine and Kohl because he's such a decent guy.

Congrats, Lunar, you're probably the only person on earth to count Ben Cardin as his/her favorite Senator.

John Kerry
Russ Feingold
Bernie Sanders
Sherrod Brown
Barbara Mikulski

These are based solely on ideology and positions on the issues.

My five favorite Republicans are...

Olympia Snowe
Susan Collins
Richard Lugar
George Voinovich
Kay Bailey Hutchson

(Really I don't agree with Lugar, Voinovich or KBH on much -- but they conduct themselves honorably in debate and Lugar, in particular, is vitally important to the country and the world {I feel} because of his insistence on accounting for and eliminating loose nukes.)

5. Patty Murray

Did you intentionally pick the five most boring/uncontroversial Senators?

Congrats, Lunar, you're probably the only person on earth to count Ben Cardin as his/her favorite Senator.

I tried to come up with the 5 most forgettable senators in a hurry.  Probably should have replaced Enzi with Crapo in retrospect.

After watching today's Health committee markup, I give a spot in my top five to Rhode Island's Sheldon Whitehouse.
