Here is the way the election is set up. There are no presidential primaries, only the election itself. The winner of the majority of the electoral vote is made President, while the one who comes in second becomes the Vice-President. Here are the canidates.

Senator Barack Obama of Illinois
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York
Former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina
Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico
Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio
Senator Joe Biden of Delaware
Former Senator Mike Gravel of Alaska
Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut
Former Governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa
Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana
Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota
Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin
Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts
Reverend Al Sharpton of New York
Senator John McCain of Arizona
Former Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas
Former Governor Mitt Rommney of Massachusetts
Representative Ron Paul of Texas
Former Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee
Representative Duncan Hunter of California
Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani of New York
Former Ambassador Alan Keyes of Maryland
Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas
Former Governor Jim Gilmore of Virginia
Representative Tom Tancredo of Colorado
Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin

You though my eight-canidate map was going to be wild. Imagine what this one is going to look like. You may also notice canidates that did not run in the race within the list. These are canidates that formed exploratory committes, but ultimately declined running because they would have not won the nomination. Since there is no nomination, they only have to worry about carrying as many states as possible.

Obama wins. Tancredo, Brownback, Romney, Thompson  and Huckabee win the GOP

Hillary, McCain and Giuliani kill each other for independents.

Kucinich, Paul, Gravel, Hunter, Biden, Richardson, Dodd, Keyes, Gilmmore, etc.. all get no support

Obama wins the democrats and liberals and wins the election..

Yes, in this scenario deciding House seems possible

I think Huckabee gets the most EVs and Hillary wins in the House.

There is no House election. Whoever comes in first with the electoral vote becomes President, while whoever comes in second becomes Vice President. The only way the House would get involved is if there is a tie for first or second. In the case of the former, the winner would be President and the loser Vice President. In the latter, the winner would be Vice President, while the loser would be nothing.

I started to do a map, but it would be too complicated. Most candidates would win their homestate. In the end, I would say Obama narrowly wins the popular vote, while Clinton wins the electoral vote, as she would probably win California and New York. There would be a lot of unhappy people though. The GOP might try and pull something, where they all ask their supporters to vote for, oh, let's say Thompson, and he ends up winning, but some of the Republican candidates are probably too self-centered to do that.
