What is this oil connection?
This was an issue the Bush team carefully avoided even mentioning before the  war. They came up with a veritable parade of pretexts--from anthrax to WMD to al-Qaida to liberation--so many it was hard to keep track of their "excuse du jour." Yet they would never mention the word "oil" in connection with Iraq.

You know, you're right! Bush is an oil crazy tyrant. He may not get ANY profit whatsoever from the invasion of Iraq, but he still invaded over oil.

I'm voting Kerry now!

No more than you buy the spin coming from Democrat loonies like Terry "the cheerleader" McAuliffe. When are you Democrat attack dogs going to give up on the slimey tactics?

Actually Bush really can't explain his justification for going to war.

Yet your party would rather pull a Chamberlain and leave Hitler Jr in power.

I'm surprised you said that.  Some of your previous posts would lead me to believe you wouldn't mind Hitler in power.  I mean you would have voted George Wallace and look at your signature.  Is that something you're proud of?

So far it seems that the oil argument boils down to "Iraq had oil, we invaded Iraq, therefore we invaded for oil."

You dismissively throw out the connection to terrorists, not only failing to refute evidence that contradicts you, but failing to even acknowledge that it exists.  You dismiss the liberation argument and don't base this dismissal on anything either except a bold assertion that it can't be liberation because Bush is bad.  You ignore periphery motivations like the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and sending a message to other middle eastern dictators.

Please explain, Shira, why you feel the need to ignore facts and invent alterior motives based on very tenuous connections.

Actually Bush really can't explain his justification for going to war.

Senators like Kerry are why we are in this war.

Kerry: Saddam Hussein is a threat
Campaign Advisor: Senator Kerry, we're behind Dean by over 10 points
Kerry: Well in that case, we were misled! Bush rushed us to war!

Of course Saddam was a threat.  So are about 30 other nations.  Do we invade tehm at the cost of untold trillions?  We WERE rushed to war.

I don't think you can name 30 countries that are serious threats to America.

The whole oil thing started to wear thin about 5 minutes after it started. The argument doesn't hold water, so instead of making yourselfs look like the fools you are, drop it.
