Obama's approval rating continues to slide, it falls to an average of about 41% on election day. That and the Biden gaffes have the administration in panic. The War on Terror has been a success so far, but the economy is in the tank still. Jeb Bush easily wins the Republican nomination. You get to choose his running-mate. Obama keeps Biden.

Discuss with maps.

Is the poll intended for our vote or for who wins ?

Anyway, 41% Obama approval means the map looks like the Bush vs. Kerry map - minus PA and NH.

(MN always votes Democratic, but just barely this time)

Your scenario:

Analysis: Jeb Bush has a similar appeal as his brother, a likable guy who could relate to you. This brings the southern vote home. Because of his strong ties with the community, Jeb narrowly wins the Hispanic vote for the Republicans for the first time in recent history. This delivers him the south-west, and California is surprisingly close, with Obama's victory margin only being 8%. The rust belt swings hard to Republicans for Obama's failure in fixing the economy. Jeb is far more articulate and comes off as more intelligent then his brother, allowing him to win New Hampshire, ME-1, and become competitive in Maine at large, New Jersey, and somewhat competitive in Connecticut.

Obama is successful:

Analysis: Jeb's appeal to Hispanics helps him hold Arizona, and though he's a strong candidate, the public is satisfied with Obama. He gets one of the best results possible given the circumstances.

It's both, I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on the "Bush" factor. (As in, his relatives)

OK, I'd vote for Obama but Bush would win.

(In your poll I'll therefore vote Bush)

The Bush name will still be toxic in 2012.
