^ = Incumbent Party (Current Governor Retiring) Scott slightly ahead of Sink, with many undecided By: Mark Warner 08 (I-AUT) on 2010-08-01 @ 11:45:29 Question: Poll Demographics About this Poll The Florida Poll survey was conducted by telephone July 24-28 from the campus of the University of South Florida Polytechnic in Lakeland. Overall results are from 590 registered voters who were determined to be likely voters. The telephone numbers used in the survey were identified at random by a computer programmed to ensure each area of the state was represented in proportion to its population and to include numbers from listed and unlisted land lines and cell phones. The results from the survey have a margin of sampling error of 4 percentage points. That means there is a 19 out of 20 chance the results from the election survey are within 4 percentage points of the answers that The New York Times newspapers in Florida would receive had they asked every one of Florida voters in the state the same questions. In questions where the subgroups were smaller, the margin of sampling error will be larger. In addition to sampling error, the practical difficulties of conducting any poll can induce other forms of error into the results. The Florida Poll is a registered trademark of The New York Times' newspapers in Florida, which have been conducting statewide opinion surveys since 1984. It was conducted in partnership with the University of South Florida Polytechnic in Lakeland. Login to Post Comments Forum Thread for this Poll |
