About this Poll
This survey of 1,292 adults was conducted October 19th through October 23rd, 2014 by The Marist Poll sponsored in partnership with NBC News. Adults 18 years of age and older residing in the state of Arkansas were interviewed by telephone using live interviewers. Landline telephone numbers were randomly selected based upon a list of telephone exchanges from throughout the state of Arkansas from ASDE Survey Sampler, Inc. Respondents in the household were selected by asking for the youngest male. To increase coverage, this landline sample was supplemented by respondents reached through random dialing of cell phone numbers from Survey Sampling International. The two samples were then combined and balanced to reflect the 2010 Census results for age, gender, income, race, and region. Results are statistically significant within ±2.7 percentage points. There are 971 registered voters. The results for this subset are statistically significant within ±3.1 percentage points. There are 621 likely voters defined by a probability turnout model. This model determines the likelihood respondents will vote in the November 2014 election based upon their chance of vote, interest in the election, and past election participation. The results for this subset are statistically significant within ±3.9 percentage points. The error margin increases for cross-tabulations.
