If the election for Pennsylvania senate was being held TODAY and the candidates were Bob Casey, the Democrat, and Rick Santorum, the Republican, who would you vote for?

Bob Casey (D) 50%
Rick Santorum (R) 39%

The party make-up was 235 Democrats (47.3%), 196 Republicans (39.4%), and 56 independents or members of other parties (11.3%). An additional 10 (2.0%) refused to provide party affiliation information. Fifty-two percent of voters were female; 48 percent were male.

About this Poll
Results of a six-day poll of likely voters in the state of Pennsylvania. Results are based on telephone interviews with 497 likely voters in Pennsylvania and conducted January 1-February 5, 2006. The initial sample size was 611 adults. The margin of sampling error was ±4.4 percentage points.
