This poll was conducted April 6, 2006, by the Bureau of Government Research and Services at Rhode Island College. It was a phone poll of 364 registered voters with a Margin of Error of plus or minus five percentage points.

Of those polled, 55% identified as independents, 29% as Democrats, 15% as Republicans, and 1% as some other party.
