Rep. Bobby Jindal (R-Louisiana, 1st District) is the leading frontrunner. I do not know of any leading Democrats at this point of trying to succeed Governor Blanco.

Governor Ernie Fletcher (R-Kentucky) has a possible GOP Challenger Former Rep. Anne Northrup (R-Kentucky). Though, Governor Fletcher had ethical lapses and will see how he fights the challenge in the Primary and General Election.

Governor Haley Barbour (R-Mississippi) is leading front runner with token opposition so far.

Kentucky has no shot of staying Republican; Beshear's smoking Fletcher in all polls conducted so far.prediction Map
