...And I'm back from doom and gloom. I actually think Barack can pull this thing through, but it's gonna be a squeeker...

PS- what's with Iowa?! Iowa's now Obama- AWESOME.

Version: 3

The news just keeps getting worse for the Dems- new Siena poll has Obama ahead in NY by only 5%?!?! In NJ by only 3% according to another poll?!?! That means that NY and NJ are now swing states?!?!?! This is catastrophic.

As a Democrat and Obama supporter, I'm rather terrified. I really, really, really hope I'm wrong, but the unfortunate thing is, I'm rather accurate about these things...Bad news, bad news. Come on Barack, pull on through! Win this thing and win big!!!

Version: 2

Until I see otherwise, McCain's the clear frontrunner. Unfortunately, I think that this country's subconscious racism plus Sarah Palin are going to result in a landslide win for the GOP. Despite some Democrats saying that everyone is overreacting to McCain's current lead, I think the opposite is true-this is election is pretty much over. Barack is already pretty far down the John Kerry/Michael Dukakis path. I just hope that this doesn't give Capitol Hill back to the GOP, but I think it very well might...

Sorry to be all gloom and doom, but I call it like I see it (And I'm a Democrat and I'm voting for Obama.)

Version: 1

I think it would be the most enlightened thing this country ever did if it elected a black man as president; however, I think that race is going to be THE issue in this election- see "The Bradley Effect." At this point, though, I think that Obama will surge ahead in national and state polling, but he will end up winning by perhaps maybe a couple hundred votes He might even win the electoral vote but lose the popular vote. Essentially, I think this election will be even closer than Bush-Gore in 2000. However, Obama needs to be significantly ahead in the polling for him to even win by the skin of his teeth.

I sure hope I'm wrong about this and we see Barack win in a landslide, though...
