Summary

Republicans have a net gain of one seat, leaving Democrats with a 26-23 majority. However, conservative Democrats Rodney Tom and Tim Sheldon allied with all 23 Republicans to form the Majority Coalition caucus, installing Tom as State Senate Majority leader and giving Republicans control of most of the Senate's committees.
