Well, Cuccinelli's out of luck.
Cuccinelli was never going to run anyway.
I'm guessing this harms Gillespie the most as he only succeeds in a room full of insiders.
Virginia state conventions aren't rooms full of insiders so much as they are rooms full of nutjobs. This harms Stewart the most, and probably helps Gillespie, since he's the only gubernatorial candidate who's run a statewide campaign in the past and has the best name recognition.
Considering that Cuccinelli ran a terrible campaign and still just barely lost (and we're going to be well into the Clinton Presidency by the time this is held), I'd have to say Gillespie will be mildly favored over Northam as well.
Will be interesting to see who Republicans nominate for the special Senate election in 2017 as well -- definitely hoping for Comstock.
