This is just too weird.  I can't imagine high schoolers saying the pledge.. especially in such "liberal" strongholds like San Francisco or the Northeast.

I guess we just don't care about patriotism up here so close to Canada.. I mean, hell, we even fly their flag all over the place.

My middle school does. I never say it, but I'm the only one.

OMG traitor! Smiley

My HS only said the pledge once that I can remember. It was on the one year anniversary of 9/11. We just were supposed to stand and listen quietly as the person said the pledge, which kinda defeated the purpose, I sorta thought.

I think I said it every day in first and second grade... maaybe third and fourth, but definitely not in fifth and sixth. Never once in middle school or high school except maybe at the occasional "We love Veterans and America!!!" assemblies

Yes, unfortunately, but it was Tom Tancredo land after all. I stopped saying it my junior year though.

I don't recall doing so in high school, but that was back in the days before the current flag and pledge mania began.  Besides, we had an old principal who probably had been in charge since before the then new high school had been built and in the old high school (which I attended as a middle school)  there wasn't an intercom to every classroom.  Heck, until I reached 8th grade, I never had class in an air-conditioned room.

At my school, it's recited every morning. Apparently, it's law that you must stand...I do not however. REBELZ!

Nope.

Not the public high school I went to, or the private, Evangelical Christian school I attended.
