I'll start with both of Ohio's Senate seats. I might do the Ohio Governor races or something else later on.

Ohio Senate Elections (Class 1)Sad
1922 - Simeon D. Fess (R) - (pretty awesome Senator for a Post-Progressive Era; supported women's suffrage, increasing the minimum wage, and labor rights)
1928 - James Goward (Socialist Labor) (Fess became worse after this point, and the Dem was meh)
1934 - Alvin V. Donahey (D), reluctantly
1940 - John McSweeney (D) (H. Burton wasn't toxic in his whole political career alone, but Burton did run against him on an anti-New Deal platform that year)
1946 (special election for a small interim) - Henry Webber (D)
1946 (general) - James Huffman (D)
1952 - Michael V. DiSalle (D)
1958 - Stephen Young (D), enthusiastically (Reliable liberal - dove on Vietnam, opposed RTW etc. - and was so much better than Bricker)
1964 - Stephen Young (D)
1970 - Howard Metzenbaum (D), enthusiastically (major FF)
1976 - Howard Metzenbaum (D)
1982 - Howard Metzenbaum (D) (Pfeifer is a liberal Republican, but not quite enough)
1988 - Howard Metzenbaum (D)
1994 - Joel Hyatt (D)
2000 - Ted Celeste (D)
2006 - Sherrod Brown (D), enthusiastically
2012 - Sherrod Brown (D)

Ohio Senate Elections (Class 3)Sad
1920 - William Alexander Julian (D)
1926 - John Goerke (Socialist Labor) (Willis died in '28 and the Dem nominee was a conservative)
1928 (special) - Anna K. Storck (Socialist Labor) (T. Burton (R) died in '29 and Hunt (D) backed fiscal conservative Al Smith in '28, so nada to both of them)
1930 (special) - Bob Bulkley (D) (progressive New Deal supporter)
1932 - Bob Bulkey (D)
1938 - Bob Bulkey (D)
1944 - Bill Pickrel (D) (He was backed by labor and he came very close to winning)
1950 - Joe T. Ferguson (D)
1954 (special) - Tom Burke (D) (Born in Cleve and appointed by Lausche himself)
1956 - Frank Lausche (D)
1962 - Frank Lausche (D)
1968 - John J. Gilligan (D), enthusiastically
1974 - John Glenn (D)
1980 - John Glenn (D)
1986 - John Glenn (D)
1992 - John Glenn (D) (esp. enthusiastically that year considering who he was up against)
1998 - Mary Boyle (D), enthusiastically (I have a relative who knows her)
2004 - Eric Fingerhut (D)
2010 - Lee Fisher (D)

Carter was the candidate put forward by Virginia Conservative Party, and ran to Byrd's right. Most black voters either abstained or voted for Traylor.  If you are looking for a pure protest/NOTA type candidate, it would be Brayman.
