Bernie Sanders' Schedule: September 10th-18th

Greetings, good people of New Bedford! I'm here today to speak to issues that ought to be important to you. Despite the industrial revolution, there is still great inequality in the strata of the class system. Dennis Kucinich and I support Medicaid for all, and oppose the right-to-slavery legislation signed into law by President Clinton in the early 1990's. In addition, we need to be mindful of the current War in Iraq! Heaven forbid that there was ever a draft to compense for this misguided foreign policy endeavor. Dennis Kucinich and I oppose imperialist moves such as the War in Iraq, and will work to create a Department of Peace, with veto power in cabinet meetings, if elected.

Ashland is the epitome of industrial towns in modern America. During World War Two and the 1950's, our nation was a global industrial hub for manufacturing and exporting. However, outsourcing has unleashed a plague upon some of our former manufacturing stalwarts and left those communities to decay. Ashland is no different - the Soo Line, a monument to the community's shipping, faces threat of demolition! If elected to the White House, Kucinich and I would pursue policies to restore our communities.

To my knowledge, the ticket of Kucinich and myself are the only ones who unequivocally opposed the War in Iraq, and have from the get-go. The Kucinich/Sanders ticket is the only ticket that supports creating a Department of Peace, is the only ticket that supports a substantive hike in the minimum wage, and the only ticket that supports real healthcare reform. While some are either late to the party, or outright in opposition to these values, I think the best bet for voters is to go with the ticket that has never shaken in their support for these issues.

I absolutely support this. I think that it's important that we recognize same-sex marriages in states that allow for it, and also push for national legalization and recognition of gay marriage. We cannot allow for a system of geographic discrimination - rights are the same whether they be in Birmingham or Boston.

I am proudly a democratic socialist - in layman's terms, creating a more egalitarian society in which everybody has a roof over their head and a blanket over their bed. My vision of democratic socialism is not the imagery that tends to be conjured up by conservatives - that of the old Soviet Union, but rather higher wages, better working conditions, and access to healthcare. I don't think too many Americans are skeptical of that. As Upton Sinclair once said, 'the people will take socialism, but they won't take the label.'

"There are only a few weeks left in this election, but polls are showing that we may win Vermont! This would send a message to the quasi-two party system that there is a viable option for social justice and equality. For all of this talk about wasted votes, the only one I can think of is a vote for gutting our welfare programs and continuing overseas engagements."

Bernie Sanders Campaign Schedule November 1st-2nd

Thank you, voters of Burlington! So many years ago, we made history by standing up for workers' rights and electing myself as an Independent. Then, we made history by electing myself once again as an Independent Senator, finally wresting control of the Senate seat from a party that supports overseas invasions and opposes aid to the poor. The Democratic alternative does not have much to offer except for mealy-mouthed murmurs of workers' rights and a gradual approach to peace. To that, I say, let's make history one last time and elect a third-party President!

November 1st
- Barnstorming and GOVT in Brattleboro, VT
- Barnstorming in Springfield, VT
- Barnstorming and GOTV in Montpelier, VT
- Barnstorming in Winooski, VT
- Rally and speech in Burlington, VT

November 2nd
- Flight to Cleveland, OH
- Election Night Rally in Cleveland, OH
