You're lucky you're in Canada - in the US that type of behaviour normally gets you murdered tied to a barbed wire fence.

One occurrance is hardly the "norm" as you call it.  The point is, many of these "abuses" are actually not really abuse.  I'd call it abuse if they show me a soldier cut off the fingers of one of the prisoners.  Or if they ripped out the prisoner's eyes.  But being tied up naked and kicked a few times?  Give me a break.

That is clearly abuse.  Anyone who would kick a tied person is a sadist.. admittedly a common type in the US.
