To be honest, I can't see how this is even really an issue:
1-We all know that if someone saw the transman pictured above in a woman's room there'd be far more controversy than in a men's room and would be far more likely to cause an incident. Meanwhile in a men's room no issue and no one would think twice. So even with the law using the men's room would still make more sense. 2-There's no monitor at bathrooms who cards you for your ID to get in. There's no way to enforce this law against trans people. 3-Based on that, wouldn't a man who both: a-could conceivably pass as a woman while crossdressing and b-wishes to rape or sexually assault women in the bathroom, just do that anyway and go into the women's room? Like I said, without carding people this makes no sense and means the claim that a man wishing to do so could "just claim to be trans"...claim that to who? 4-Actually wouldn't a man intending to do that just go into the women's room when no one's looking and then hide in a stall? 5-Rapes and sexual assaults in bathrooms are very rare, and they almost always are same gender when they do occur. 6-They also almost exclusively occur in seedy places and/or ones with tons of alcohol being served, not public locations like laws are aimed at. 7-All due to that a public bathroom is easily one of the worst places for a would be rapist to look for victims anyway, there's a very good chance someone will go in and find him, and public buildings have all sorts of armed security around. Has there ever been any incident of this occurring?
