Sleepover in the Train Room?

Of course, a mere sleeping bag would wreak havoc on Jeff's back. No doubt the Family Brown is making a trip to Wal-Mart to spend some money on an air mattress and electric air compressor.

Someone of Jeff's weight would destroy a fully inflated air mattress. Even me, at a normal weight, find myself waking up in a half-deflated mess with severe muscle aches every time I try sleeping on an air mattress.

This is all too accurate.  Air mattresses are just a touch better than the floor itself, but yeah, the mattress is more than half deflated and I'm popping the Aleve the next day like they're vanilla wafers.  That's a little exaggeration, but you get the picture.  I do have to take some Aleve almost immediately after I get up and then find myself a real bed very soon.

bushie majored in e-commerce, still refuses to do simple tasks online.
That's a really good point. Crazy! Maybe he's aware of some especially frightening internet security issues the rest of us don't know about. Or maybe he's just being Bushie. Sigh...

bushie also prefers paper job applications and paper pay checks instead of direct deposit.

I prefer face to face communications, which is why I like to meet the employers and apply in person.  Most of the time, that's not available, so I have to submit an application online.

I have never said I prefer paper checks to direct deposit.  You made that up.  I like the convenience of direct deposit.

I'll bet he's one of those people who spends 15 minutes paying at the grocery store because he insists on writing a check. And the 60+ year olds he routinely hangs out with tell him there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

Wrong.  I only write a check to pay the rent.  I use my debit card and/or cash for everything else.

Jeff, show an ounce of sanity and do your change of address form online. I would guess that you've been "up" at some point today, so the burden of getting up to get your wallet is a moot point. You'll pay more in time and fuel costs by going to the post office to fill out a paper form than you will the the $1.00 confirmation charge.

I know you wanted to make your week sound "busy," but aside from cleaning a house, you don't have much going on. Work smarter, not harder -- fill out the form online and use that valuable time on Tuesday to build a LinkedIn profile, continue the job search or reach out to some professional connections.

I'll do it online.  I don't know if I'll do it today or tomorrow or Tuesday, but I'll do it online.

I've already got a LinkedIn profile, but honestly, I do not know how it works, so I never look at it.

But aren't you an IT genius that was prepared to pass the A+ Certification with no experience for a helpdesk job? How do you not get LinkedIn?

I'm good at IT, but I have never understood LinkedIn other than it's a networking site.

What are you doing right now that is so G*d damn important that you can't take five minutes to change your address at the link I basically spoon-fed to you?

Chill... I'll get to it soon.  I've got all week.

Bushie, Jeff, whatever

Please take my advice and just deactivate your account... please. You were gone for a week and these fools had to make up stupid jokes just to keep this sh**ts alive...come on man. You know you are better than this, delete this and your Facebook, and these bums will be as screwed... many of them base their whole lives on this update thread, just force them to do something worthwhile.

Thank you for your advice.  I do need to just stop posting.  I did so good for almost two weeks, then I just couldn't hold it any longer.  Unfortunately, though, I cannot delete my forum account.  Plus, I enjoy talking politics, so that wouldn't work too well.  As far as Facebook, I have too many other real friends (over 500 worth) that it would be very time consuming to re-add them all with a new account and I don't want to lose the communication I have with them.  I did the next best thing and kicked five individuals off my Facebook who kept bringing stuff from my Facebook into the Update.  They were like dogs who kept dragging in road kill.  I still have some of the forum on my Facebook, those who I feel genuinely like me for more than entertainment purposes and don't bring stuff over.

Now you know how it feels.  You've insulted me and put me down all these years, but you always get mad and deny it when I call you out on it and make me look like the bad guy.  The road goes both ways.  I don't feel a bit sorry for my post.

Here's a paradox:  on the Tulsa's CBS affiliate Noon news, they just had a Weight Watchers healthy cooking segment sponsored by... Get ready... Braum's...  That doesn't make sense!  I know Braum's real well and I would never use it and Weight Watchers in the same sentence other than "You need WW after eating Braum's."

You know what you don't know well? The meaning of the word paradox.

Alright, how about oxymoron?

"Forked over"... Lol.  Do you feel jipped?

EDIT: Are you going to do some Bushie-patented little old lady errands anyway?  Can I recommend a trip to the bank to spat with the teller over nothing?  Or maybe the post office for stamps?

Nah, it's only $1.05, it's nothing.  I can't think of any errands I need to run until I go to Walmart in Tulsa on Saturday.

How many applications have you filled out today?

None so far.  I've been looking, but haven't found anything really worth while.  It may be slow because of the holiday.

Good.  No need to splurge on busy work just because gas is cheap.  Do you have Target in Oklahoma?  They are a good bit less destructive than Wall Mart.

Eh, I actually prefer Walmart to Target.

Have you had to deal with any of that infamous Tulsa Traffic lately?

Not since the weekend before Christmas.  I know I will, though, when I get back up there this weekend.

...you're not getting the joke here, pal.

You probably think NBA Basketball is boring.  The league used to be boring until the Oklahoma City Thunder came on the scene along with the world's best player Kevin Durant.

Has watching NBA players running up and down the court ever incited enough excitement out of you that you walked across the room?

If you mean walking back and forth to the fridge, then, why yes!

Ugh!  Why!?
According their websites, there is a Wally World in his hometown of Choctaw, but no Target. Here in East Memphis, there are two Targets, but no WalMart. I suspect proximity is a concern. I certainly wouldn't drive super to go big box shopping. Also worth pointing out, there was no Thunder game today. He spent all day watching games of teams he doesn't even care about. Just like with college football a couple of months ago.

There is a Target in Midwest City, only 12 miles from my parents'.

Target is 5 1/2 miles from my Tulsa apartment and Walmart is 5 miles.

I don't think I could live anywhere 12 miles from a Target. That's super far just to do my routine household shopping Tongue

The Choctaw Walmart is still 8 1/2 miles from my parents' on its own.

Do you guys do a lot of your shopping on Amazon? They were talking on the radio about how Amazon is trying very hard to expand aggressively in remote places because it's so much more convenient for the people who live there.

We don't do any shopping on Amazon.  We always drive the 8-14 miles depending on where we're going to do all of our shopping.

Amazon is far too complicated for Clan Bushie.  If only they had somebody in the family with some knowledge of 'electronic commerce' to help them.

It's definitely not too complicated, but it's just that we haven't had a need to look into it, yet.

So Our Dear Friend watched the NBA reruns today while Papa puts in 12 hours and his retirement goals are further extended.

Scumbag.

He had the day off because of the holiday.
