Insofar as the drug war and/or the death penalty becomes a focus of attention, you can see a lot of working together across normal ideological lines. Liberals, libertarians and even religious conservatives. On the other hand the is the issue of to what extent individuals and institutions are allowed to go against new norms when it comes to sexuality and political correctness, a question which leads to the culture war becoming ever more inflamed.
