No way.   If they were fining or prosecuting gay couples for holding hands in public it would be different, since that would be a comparable situation.

Yes, since I support both. The niqab, burqa and other conformist Islamic clothing should be banned, for the integration and assimilation of muslims, from religious Islamic cultures, to a liberal secular nation. Since the Niqab, Burqa, Haik and face veils are also a symbol, of conformity, denies a woman of her own self-worth, and is deeply patriarchal clothing. Now, what happens, when when a woman should wear such things, their clothing should be removed in cases of faceveils, or the covering of the face, clothing should be removed from the area, but the woman should not be punished, or is should be punishment-less crime, if done, the police needs to explain the need, not to wear such things.  Preferably, a ban on the sale and buying of such clothing, should be banned, with punishments on the seller, not the buyer.

However, there needs to be more to done or force, to integrate male Muslims into a secular society, with beliefs of secularism, and liberal nationalism, not Islamic theocracy. If unable to do so, after multiple failures, jail time, or if possible deportation is necessary. Refugees/Immigrants also need to be integrated, and only those who show they can adhere to a secular society should be accepted, and these refugees/immigrants should show a commitment to the adherence of the values of secularism, and liberal nationalism.

Let's just stop for a moment and consider this suggestion that police forcibly remove clothing from women

And what this clothing represents and what you are telling the police to do with it.  I'm sure that will really endear these women and the men in their community to these secular liberal values.
