Wouldn't putting them in control of our gov't while not possessing the ability to extend the benefits to them, risk that they vote to end the glory?
This is an important point. If the IDS had some kind of control or sovereignty over the other regions, THEN they could enjoy our grandness, but without that? Just giving them the vote doesn't seem fair for them.
