And still less sane than making 100% of the cuts come from the Department of Defense. So maybe the military won't be able to buy as many $2.4 billion planes (B-2 Spirits). Big whoop.

So the austerity to social programs (which is deep) is okay now?

I said cut the military, not social programs.

Ah, that needed clarification.

And 12 minutes until we go over...

I wrote an op/ed on sequestration as a guest column for my old school paper... and they never published it.  Kinda pissed me off that they told me they'd publish it, and then I spent an hour writing it, and they didn't.  So I sent it to a few other papers and they didn't publish it.  Anyway, the point of the op/ed was that the sequestration should happen - it had bipartisan support, and while both sides will find things they don't like, at least sh**t's getting cut.

2. I'll at least respect Conyers that he voted No the first time... not like so many of the whiney Republicans who voted Yes and are now saying, "We can't cut the Defense Budget.  That's un-American! Sharia Law! Obama is the Antichrist! It's all Obama's fault!"

It would certainly confirm every ounce of cynicism about Congress not being serious about deficit reduction.

There is no drawing board.  At least not that anyone's interested in drawing on. It's amazing that there has been absolutely no progress on this. No one is even sitting at this mythical table Republicans don't want revenues to be on.  It's not even truly that Republicans aren't willing to raise revenues under some circumstances.  There just isn't any trust left that anyone would be negotiating in good faith.

Anyone who votes against this bill should be permanently removed from Congress.

"Hey let's just intentionally screw everyone instead of working out our differences!"  Brilliant idea there.  Repeal this sh**t immediately.

Dude, just because he represented Detroit doesn't mean he controlled the entire capitalist junta that destroyed it.  He was just the window-dressing to give the victims the erroneous impression they had a voice.
