I thought Ontario was really conservative compared to most of Canada.

It's about average compared to the country as a whole. Nationally, whoever wins Ontario will win the election.

b-b-b-b-ut I thought all the "progressive" nations hated the far right neoliberal warmonger corporatist!

Also, jfern's newfound Trump support is quite amusing.

Can I ask where you got the 52 electoral votes. I assume it was by looking at California's 53, seeing that Canada has only slightly fewer people, then subtracting one to get 52. Correct me if I'm wrong.

According to this, it would be 68 total electoral votes if each province were admitted as a state, assuming the House is expanded to 483 seats (so that no states lose representatives).

Ontario   21
Quebec   13
British Columbia   8
Alberta   7
Manitoba   4
Saskatchewan   3
Nova Scotia   3
New Brunswick   3
Newfoundland & Labrador   3
Prince Edward Island   3
Total   68

Why do 80% support an opponent of single payer healthcare?

Because U.S. health care system under Obamacare is superior to Canada's?

How exactly?

Canada doesn't screw over the poor enough Smiley

I thought Ontario was really conservative compared to most of Canada.
Ontario's conservative number is was higher than nationwide in 2011 and 2015 because the Conservatives tend to be competitive with minorities in the GTA (Toronto+suburbs).

In the GTA, the Conservatives got 33%, almost the same as the 32% nationally. It would be the equivalent of the New York City metro area having an R+1 PVI. Trump (and even a generic R) would totally collapse here.

Not surprised seeing that these people elected a man who is somehow dumber than trump as prime minister

Trudeau isn't dumb. He's far more qualified to lead a country than Trump.

"If you kill your enemies, they win"

The f***ing irony of you using a specific quote to diminish Trudeau and uphold Trump and, more generally, the party of people like Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Ben Carson, and George Bush is not lost on me. Excellent joke!

If they don't expand it, each province only gets a total of 65 EVs, as seen in the second part of the link.

Bitterness that the favorite son didn't win the nomination, I would presume.

God bless Alberta.

Canada's stifling social norms and their left-wing media culture prevent fair-handed portrayals of Trump. If they saw the whole picture and were actually paying attention, I think 35-40% would support Trump.

WTF?
