And "Matress Mary" Fallin who cheated on her husband and has a daughter who does slutty photo shoots in front of the governor's mansion thinks she's a defender of marriage and morality.

Seriously? I didn't know either.

Links?

In early December 1998, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol bodyguard for Lt. Gov. Fallin resigned after admitting to unprofessional conduct. The Fallins had filed for divorce the previous week, amid allegations by her estranged husband that she had an affair with a bodyguard.

My favorite Mary Fallin moment was when her Twitter was hacked by a 4th grader:

More of the same nonsense, surprising to no one, etc. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that for every forum thread on Oklahoma political news for the time being, most of us will be able to find a use for a stock response of this general form and save time:

"Yes, Oklahoma leadership is a joke on this particular issue. It has been for a good while, and it will continue to be for a good while more. The end."

Yeah, I've never seen a thread about Oklahoma on here that's positive, politically or otherwise.

Sorry. :/

Oh no, that's for a good reason. Wink It's just too predictable to be noteworthy anymore.

Yes, you have.  They just come from me.  I still love Oklahoma and our Christian heritage.  I don't agree with this decision by the governor, but it doesn't make her an awful governor or a bigot, she is just a governor who has made a questionable decision, which is not unlike every governor in America of all parties.  I like Mary Fallin and am considering voting for her re-election next year.  Although, this ruling puts that consideration in jeopardy.  The only bad thing is this ruling pretty much guarantees her a second term.

Bushie you have no say in whether or not this makes her a bigot because you've lived in a privileged bubble your whole life and have no idea what it's like to be discriminated against based on sexual orientation because you've never experienced it. Even though ordering your state's national guard not to provide married benefits to deserving couples who are legally married is kind of an obvious one. Buy hey.

The GOP is more concerned with punishing disenfranchised groups than with governance.

As a member of the military, I do find this disappointing.  The National Guard fulfill a crucial part of our mission (as do all military personnel) and to deny them benefits because of their sexual orientation is appalling. They've served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and more distantly in Vietnam, Korea, and World War II.  Frankly, I don't see why this is even up for discussion.

I already considered Oklahoma to be the worst state in the country. This just solidifies that view.

I think it's really crappy that some people are more concerned with this woman's sex life than her hurtful, discriminatory policies. I don't care one iota if she's a virgin or has slept with half of Oklahoma. We should focus on matters of substance.

I can see it from the Republicans' point of view that because gay marriage isn't recognized by the state, then gay couples have no legal baring. Therefore, the Oklahoma Republicans have leveled out the playing field. However, what is a level playing field? Should people be discriminated against simply because of their orientation? Absolutely not! It's a shame we can't get some moderation on this and many other issues. I'm very disappointed with my party on this issue.

BUMP

Fallin has come up with a solution to this: Deny benefits to all National Guard couples to avoid providing them to same-sex couples.

I think we'll see a state or 2 try to do this with marriage as a whole in the next decade.

Sad That actually effected my grandfather; he was a band teacher at T.C. Williams HS. So now I'm thinking about him. RIP.

Anyway, it's sh***y of Gov. Fallin to do this. Jari Askins wouldn't have done this.
