Did you hear the Republican caller who said he was switching parties because of this bill?

He finally realized which party was the bigger threat to freedom.  I doubt there are many left in the GOP to flee.

Because the Republicans support the right of a mentally disabled person to live they are a threat to freedom? Or is freedom in your book simply your right to bugger a 12 year old boy?

For nickshepDem:

Here's how the Maryland Congressmen broke down in terms of voting.  Happy to say my congressman voted for it.

For the Schiavo bill:
Bartlett-R
Cummings-D
Gilchrest-R
Wynn-D

Against the Schiavo bill:
Cardin-D
Hoyer-D
Van Hollen-D

Didn't bother to show:
Ruppersberger-D

Did anyone watch C-Span while the vote was taking place?  Did you hear the Republican caller who said he was switching parties because of this bill?

I watched it.  Stayed up late on the night of a big competition and was wrecked this morning.  The speeches were good though, especially Hoyer's.

It will be struck down as unconstitutional, in one of the rare instances in which the federal courts are right.

I liked Hoyers speech too.
