How strangely phrased.

Yeah, I'm not sure he quite grasps the concept of email...it seems like he's under the impression he's sending a single letter back and forth.

I'd love to see an email conversation between this guy, John Carter, and Terry Branstad.

"Terry, take these letter things back-- I don't want 'em."

"I can't, I don't have an emailphone. Is there an app? Send me a google or something."

"The sahbers! They're everywhere! Jesus lord, the sahbers!"

Yeah, I'm not sure he quite grasps the concept of email...it seems like he's under the impression he's sending a single letter back and forth.

I took it as him being very snide and dismissive, not of him literally not understanding how email works and thinking you no longer have a piece of correspondence once it's sent as is the case with a physical letter. I'm assuming his "Sent" box is full of emails he sent to other people without them having to "return" them to him later.

Well, yes, that would seem to be his intention. But the phrasing of his sassy little remark is just odd.
