Speaker Cris's Statement On Constitutional Convention.

DENVER, CO, MIDWEST - Speaker Cris released the following statement on the recent developments of the Constitutional Convention:

"I'm glad to see that the Constitutional Convention passed the article that will wipe all current laws. This is an important victory for all Atlasian people. Thanks to this decision, all current laws, at both federal and regional level, will be wiped. So the legislators of the 3 new regions, the Senators and the Representatives will be able to write again laws for their regions, for our nation and this will secure high activity and a true commitment of our representatives in both the regional and the federal governments. That's what Atlasia needs and I'm glad to support this important decision."

Since you want the support of the Right where do you stand on the following questions:

1) Do you support efforts to limit acts of abortion? If elected to the Senate, would you support heavy regulations on interstate abortions?

2) Do you support major changes to the tax system that ends egregious double taxation and encourages economic growth? Do you swear to oppose tax increases as a part of any new budget?

3) Do you support efforts to reduce government spending, create a fiscally responsible expenditure policy, and avoid spending that leads to our-of-control accumulation of debt?

4) Do you pledge to support a policy of improving our national defense and rebuilding our military? Do you pledge to defend our military against leftist efforts to defang our national defense?

5) Do you recognize the rights of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of their families, property, and freedoms?

These issues, the right to life, low taxes, limited spending, national defense, and the right to bear arms, are, taken in totality, and adequate measure of a candidate's commitment to the conservative movement.

Mr. Prime Minister, thanks for the questions.

1) I think abortion shall be granted for the whole pregnancy in cases of rape, incest or when the mother's healt is at risk. For all the remaining case, I think we should let abortion be legal only for the first three months of pregnancy.
But that's not all. Some people claim to be "pro-life" just because they oppose abortion. But that's not all. If you want to be pro-life, you should be pro-life for the whole life. This means that we should make access to condoms more easier, considered that only by doing that we'll be able to prevent abortion, and we should act on drug addiction.

2) I think we should reduce taxes when it's possible. As for the new budget, I supported an increase in taxation for both tobacco and alcohol, because both tobacco and alcool afflicts the healt of millions of people (this is what I mean when I say "pro-life for the whole life"). With the revenues of tobacco and alcohol, we can reduce and cut other taxes. Also I hope we'll be able to get a surplus. It could be very useful.

3) Yes. I think that we should reduce the role of federal government in the lives of our people. The federal government should do few things, but these things must be done right. And Yes too for the fiscally responsible expenditure policy and for avoiding spending that leads to accumulation of debt.

4) Yes. A strong national defense and a strong military mean a strong, a safer nation. Period.

5) Generally speaking, I think people should be able to keep bear arms in defense of families, freedom and property, but we can't let all people to keep bear arms. We should require strict background checks, psychological testing and then increase penalties for gun-related crimes.

I'd like to encourage my fellow Atlasians to go to vote for the At-Large Senate election. Voting is a civic right and a civic duty. Regardless of who gets your vote, every vote is a victory for our democracy.

Congrats Cris!

I am glad you were reelected and that our three Fed sweep didn't come at your expense. A year ago, you entered with a 4-1 liberal/socialist dominated class, now those numbers will be reversed as you enter your fourth term.

This time it is all the more important because of the Convention, and the leading role you have played in the reform effort, it would be a very big loss were you to be removed from the arena at this critical stage.

I look forward to continue working with you to reform Atlasia and to advance a center-right agenda in the Senate.
