What steps will you take to revitalize the AG position apart from the normal duties (Wiki, trials, patents/copyright)?

I will aim to actively advise both the legislative and executive branches whenever they require advice on legal matters.

I will actively pursue a reform of criminal laws to remedy matters that arose in the Walterstein case. I will also be exploring a more structured legal profession - possibly creating a Supreme Court bar (though this will require consultation with the court obviously), and a formal list of "lawyers" willing to serve as court appointed lawyers in criminal cases.

How do you plan to remedy the matters that arose in the Walterstein case?

There is clearly a few areas that need to be addressed after Walterstein:

1. The issue of determination of where a crime is committed for jury purposes - I feel that this ought to be settled statutorily, if only to remove the matter completely from doubt.

2. The issue of moderator action - the court ruled that various moderator actions are not admissable without a warrant. I think the various rules surrounding this ought to be clarified: I will certainly be seeking a rule that states that moderators can approach the Justices secretly in order that a poster who is particularly malicious would not know that he was actively under investigation. I will also be looking into other codification of this process.

I feel no real need; I trust Peter with the role.

He has my full support.

Thank you for your answers, and I support your nomination fully.

Likewise with mine. Well he would if I were a current member of the Atlasian Senate Wink.

Seventy-two hours for discussion of the nomination have ceased, and I now move to a vote on the nomination. Please vote Aye, Nay or Abstain on the confirmation of Peter Bell as Attorney General.

As long as Peter is active in the office I have no qualms about the Father of the Constitution being our Attorney General.
