The credentials of William Vare as Senator-elect were presented to the Senate and referred to the Committee on Privileges and Elections. Vare was not permitted to take his seat and on 6 December 1929 was formally barred from joining the body. Special election for a replacement Senator was held on 4 November 1930.
Wilson's vote is fusion of Democratic and Labor lines.
