I am opening up a 48 hours declaration period for Leadership positions and to offer amendments to the platform and bylaws.

I know we got proposals for both on the later in the works.

The election will of course be this weekend and last for 72 hours. Once this over with we can then proceed with General election speeches and focusing on the general election campaign.

Below represents the most substantial rewrite of the platform in the history of party. Large portions of the current one date from the 2012 Whig Party Platform and had a major revision in 2014, but has been unchanged since this. This represents a condensing down of the mission statement, which we still preserve the basic tenets of, and reducing the main platform planks to broad principles that the candidates can fill in with specific proposals.

This was a 5:00 AM special with myself, Leinad and dfw working on it when we should have been asleep. I would like to open the floor to potential amendments. If there is a lot, I will delay the election this weekend to accommodate it.

But for now I offer the following as the underlying text for discussion to be voted on tentatively this weekend and open the floor to amendments to the same.

This is okay--desirable, actually, and I endorse her run--because (as fhtagn already knows) I am not.

RIP Chair of Vices Leinad, April 2016-October 2017. A nice year and a half, where I oversaw (er, vice-oversaw Tongue) 4 Federalist Presidents--not bad!

Also we might as well go ahead and knock out the city vote two. 48 hours to nominate cities for the February 2018 convention.

Any chance for explicit protections of freedom of speech and free exercise of religion?

Didn't notice this before.

Wouldn't they fall under "natural rights"?

How did an isolated band of renegades in a dead party (This was when we had no elected officeholders) redefine completely the Atlasian political scene, on its terms?

Reagan got nothing on this sh@%t! Tongue

Anyway I am going to hold the combined elections this weekend to enable time to work those remaining problems out of the platform and discuss any remaining issues with it. If you have any comments, concerns or questions about the proposal (I think it is on the previous page), please post them soon. Tongue

We should like, hold a vote on changing colors IMO

Orange-Red is so 2012

Now you are just being petty. Tongue Orangered is the color of the morning sun in all its glory, and perfectly demonstrates our desire for a country with a bright and prosperous future built on individual choice, free market options and less centralized control of the economy and government.

no I mean I want a new color lol

Considering how such decision making historically have not ended up well for party unity, I would strongly recommend such not be considered until after the elections.

Frankly I think it is ridiculous to change such an identifying factor considering how strongly the party is associated with orange and orange-red. The color also has a historic association with representative democracy, separation of powers and enshrining natural rights, all three of which are base elements and core principles, long held and fought for as well as enshrined in the new simplified platform being voted on.

I would also point out the Party also utilizes, green, purple and base orange in multiple instances including for the Federalist Caucuses. The former two are colors of our legacy parties, the Imperial Bloc and Whigs, whose merger formed the Party. Such have long been used as alternates and are present on the ballot.

Edit: Just realized I left blank the greed coded text, stating what the Primary was for. I just filled it in.
