Apparently this game will still be in progress at least ten years after we all die.

There's conservative and then there's what Colin's doing.  I thought for certain that if he didn't try for the Banzai that he'd go after either Michigan or Florida and secure that, but for whatever reason he hasn't done either of those nor the Banzai.

As I said I suck at this all right. I'm not playing Risk again so whatever I don't care what you think Ernest. I have a strategy in mind and if it works I'll win this thing. I hope all you high and mighty armchair generals are happy now. When I started playing I didn't know that we had Carl von Clausewitz in the audience.

Also I'm not that one who is in danger of being completely destroyed next round.

EDIT: Just needed to vent some anger over this game. It's getting rather exasperating.

Nah, I consider myself more a George-Jacques Danton than a Carl von Clausewitz, tho both have their merits.

I wonder how well they would have done at Risk.

Also when did Arizona change from having 5 battalions in it to 1? When I was making my plans I could have sworn that said 5.

EDIT: sh**t didn't see that Joe had made a mistake with the map. God damn it.

New map:

General Ernest, it is your turn.  You have 3 reinforcements.

+ [5 states ÷ 3 = Minimum 3 reinforcements]
+ [No regions held]
= 3 reinforcements

Il nous faut de l'audace, et encore de l'audace, et toujours de l'audace.

Being conservative now is likely to do nothing more than see me fade away, so I shall be bold, perhaps too bold, though I do wish I had a set of cards I could turn in.  Even 4 more battalions would make this immeasurably easier, as it is, I will need good rolls to succeed.

Place all three battalions in Michigan and attack Ohio. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, do-or-die, leaving only 1 battalion behind each time. Stop when I run out of battalions to attack Colin with or when it becomes impossible for me to take Massachusetts.

I needed slightly better than average, and instead I got average.  It was worth the shot.  If I last until next turn it will be solely because of play intended to prevent another player from having the opportunity to get my cards.

End turn

Well... I shall first turn in these cards.  As I am mildly sauced at the moment, I will wait to give orders until tomorrow.

... Wait until tomorrow?  BRILLIANT!  Smiley

Hmmmm... acctually, I deleted my last set of orders, realizing what a mistake that would be.

On second though, place 7 bats in Nevada and the other 10 in Minnesota

4 bats from Nevada---> Arizona

3 bats from Nevada---> Utah

All out attack from Minnesota---> Wisconsin

Edit:  Acctually scrap these orders... I'm going to have to do something more ambitious if I am going to stop make sure Colin doesn't win next turn... as I don't know if he has more cards.

Put 9 bats in Minnesota, with the same attack orders.

Put the other 8 in Nevada---> Arizona

Soulty have you looked at the map recently? I have about zero chance of winning next turn even with cards unless everything, everything, plays in my favour. I don't think anyone is going to be winning in the next round least of all me.

I can forsee you getting really lucky and taking both Michigan and Texas... sorry, but I can't risk you not doing it.  Esspecially since you have the last turn and you don't have to hold said territories for a full turn.

Why don't you just put everything in Nevada, conquer the Southwest take Texas and then knock out Missouri? You disable Mas and Colin, making it impossible for them to win, and also get hold of a capital and a region. But, hey...it's your chose.

More to the point, why not put those eight into California instead of Nevada, and simply conquer Michigan, New Jersey, and Texas this round?

I would never be able to hold them all.
