I think there has been a consensus here on joining the Socialist International. I propose our Chairman refers to the GM to request membership of our Party to this international organization. I don't see how we could achieve the goal otherwise. If the Chairman would like to, I can refer to the GM office myself since I made the proposition on the first place.

I believe this task would fall under the purview of the General Secretary. I'm all for it. I don't believe we had a vote on it, though. After this one is done, we'll move that to a formal vote.

Also, congratulations to Fuzzybigfoot as he begins his first term as Pacific Legislator.

Well the elaboration committee hasn't been officially appointed as of yet, and while I had started to work on the thing, I had holiday then sh**tload of stuff at work IRL, so I didn't get further with it.

When I have time, I'll try to come up with something, whether I'm in that committee or not. But then there's the biathlon season starting on Sunday so... Cheesy

Duly noted. We will have an endorsement vote sometime within the next week - allowing enough time for those interested in running to enter the fray.

It's not like it matters, or anything, but can I have the party's endorsement for the upcoming Gubernatorial Election in the Pacific?

I understand. I'm just requesting my name on the ballot for the endorsement vote, that's all.

As always, we will have a formal endorsement suggestion period where you, Mr. X and any others will need to submit your formal requests. I just wanted to let those who are interested know that said period will be forthcoming.

The formal endorsement suggestion period will be open for 72 hours. All non-Labor candidates who wish to seek Labor's endorsement should make their intent known in this thread.

People of the Labor Party-

Today I am here seeking your endorsement. Although many of you and me may not see eye to eye on many issues there are some which we do. I would like to now use this as an opportunity to ask for your endorsement:

First off, I would like to apologize for my lack of initiative when seeking your endorsement in the Special Senate Election, I was somewhat unorganized and I regret how little I told you of my platform, beliefs, plans, and centrist ideology. It was somewhat disrespectful.

In my time here in Atlasia I have dealt with people of varying political beliefs. If elected I will get all of these people to hopefully come to the table in an effort of bipartisanship. Every party is fighting to mae Atlasia a better place and I think that if we can get members of every party to come to the table the results will be great indeed. Gridlock would be reduced and the national and regional governments could develop an even better relationship. It is with the simple idea of bipartisanship days of gridlock and little results can be erased.

This party is somewhat based on the belief's of the working man. I can identify with this as I am somewhat economically liberal. Whether its my opposition to outsourcing or my recent Corporate Carbon Emission Tax I've been determined to make this country even greater by giving those at the bottom an easier way to climb. Another notable idea I have held since the beginning of my time here is the raising of the minimum wage. Not only would this assist those in the bottom 40% ways to become much more prosperous it would give low income families a fighting chance and the ability to do things they have wanted. Whether its getting those last minute gifts for their children at Christmases or Birthdays or enjoying the family vacation which they haven't been able to afford for years, dreams will come true. In addition the families at the bottom will likely be helping regional businesses on main street and would become an even more integral part of their community.

I can't say that I agree with this party on 100% of the issues but I will say this: I will be truly honored to have the chance to work with you if I am elected. I look forward to the chance to build bridges instead of ripping bipartisan ones down as has been done in the past. Together we can bring prosperity back into Atlasia and that's why I am requesting your endorsement in the upcoming election. I hope to serve you as an At-Large Senator and am excited to hear about your views, ideas, and convictions on the issues facing our nation today. I'd like to welcome you to look at the progress the Pacific Legislature is making and I hope you get to see the bills I've suggested and signed. I don't claim full credit for them however, seeing as I have many competent Councillors who bare doing their Pacific Duty.

I would also like to encourage you to stop by my campaign and take a look around at my platform and ideas for our future. I believe that based on my experiences in the Pacific Region that we can make activity increase, unemployment decrease, and prosperity become eternal.

I realize many of you may not vote for me, or even may actively oppose me but I encourage you to look at my beliefs. I truly hold this nation with the highest regard and if I'm elected will serve it honorably. I will be an active and open Senator and hope to have the chance to communicate with you throughout the rest of this campaign. T o those who may not know me to well I would love to make your acquaintance. Meeting new people is a just one of many bonuses Atlasia offers and together, standing united, we can change this nation for the better.

Thank you for allowing me this wonderful opportunity to discuss my candidacy in the upcoming primary vote and I hope you have become more educated about me and my candidacy throughout these last few paragraphs.

   Gov. Spamage

Of course, and thank you for the opportunity Representative Barnes, I wish you the best of luck this December Smiley  I know, I know, I'm a "dirty Lieberal," but just hear me out Wink  My friends, I know that there Liberal Party and the Labor Party has been some tension between the Labor and Liberal Parties since the last Presidential election.  However, that is not what I am hear to speak to you about.  No, I am hear today to talk about what unites us.  I feel safe in saying that we share a belief that everyone desires a fair chance at living the Atlasian dream regardless of what economic situation they are born into.  I am proud of my record as a strong voice for the center-left during my time in the Mideast Assembly.

That being said, my governing philosophy is not one of ideological rigidity, but one of principled pragmatism.  During my time in the Assembly, I have worked with members of the Whig, Labor, Federalist, and TPP party to negotiate compromises that combine the best ideas of all sides because no one individual or party has a monopoly on good ideas.  Additionally, I believe (and I hope Governor Tmthforu94 and my fellow Assemblymen feel the same way) that since the September elections, partisanship has all but disappeared from the Mideastern government.  I see Governor Tmthforu94 and my fellow Assemblymen not as members of any political party, but as good, dedicated, hard-working public servants who may not always agree with me on the best way to help The People.  As a result, we were able to pass major immigration reform, education reform, and many other vital pieces of legislation.  We were also able to pass fairer labor laws that would protect every Mideastern worker's right to join a union without crippling business.  However, my proudest achievement by far is that Governor Tmthforu94 and I were able to work closely during the budget debate to hammer out a compromise that not only helped ensure the passage of the Mideast's first budget in its entire history, but pass a balanced budget that left us with a significant surplus.  I also want to note that I am currently in a coalition with both the Labor Party and The People's Party in the Mideast Assembly.  Ultimately, all of the successes I mentioned earlier were possible only because Governor Tmthforu94, my fellow Assemblymen, and myself all worked to foster a culture of compromise, regardless of who was in power.  Most importantly (and no matter how much we may disagree), at the end of the day, we're all on the same side, and that is The People's side.  We don't treat each other like the enemy.

Which brings me to why I am running.  You may recall that I said early in my speech that I was here to speak of that which unites us.  I just described to you the prosperity that comes with a culture of compromise and civility.  That is my vision for Atlasia.  But what if we choose not to follow that vision by rejecting principled pragmatism.  To find out, one need look no further than Nyman.  I look at the breakdown of the working relationship between President Napoleon and the Senate with great sadness.  I could describe all the incidents that I believe caused this breakdown, but that isn't what matters.  What matters is that any Atlasian can look at the working relationship between the President and the Senate, and immediately see that something has gone horribly wrong.  The President, whether intentionally or unintentionally, has created the impression that he has contempt for the Senate.  Certain members of the Senate have responded with over-the-top rhetoric and have increasingly taken a hyper-adversarial tone towards the President.  I am running because I think most Atlasians in all parties look at this breakdown and know that this is not the way things are supposed to be.  Something has to change, and soon!

That is why I am running for the Senate, because I believe that we need less partisanship and more pragmatism in the federal government.  If elected, I will try to bring some of the Mideast's culture of compromise and civility with me to Nyman.  I will work hard to establish a strong working relationship with President Napoleon, Vice-President Nathan, and every member of the Senate.  I also promise that my door will always be open to every Atlasian.  As for my commitment and activity-level, I think that my record in the Mideast Assembly speaks for itself Smiley  Speaking of which, I'm sure Assemblymen Gass3268 and drj101 will vouch for both my bipartisanship and my progressivism (at least I hope so, since I just said that Wink ).  I would be happy to answer any of your questions and I want to thank you again for giving me the chance to make my case to you today.  It would truly be an honor to receive your party's endorsement.  Thank you all for your time and Dave bless Atlasia Smiley
