Yeah, it's a ways off, and we won't have the official Atlas version for a while, but I'm bored.

What do you think your 2012 Senate endorsement map will end up looking like?

Pink means I'd prefer third party, but it's a state where they almost certainly won't make the ballot, so D if I have to pick.

Don't know who the Democratic candidates will be in a lot of the races, but they generally get my default endorsement if they don't piss me off.

We'll certainly have third party candidates on the June ballot here in California, but we have the Washington system now, and so the November ballot would most probably be just the major two parties.

Hence the pink coloring for California. The endorsements Dave runs here are always for the general election, not the primary.

Republicans everywhere except California. An elderly New Democratic incumbent is the only electable antidote to rampant SF liberalism personified by Pelosi and Boxer.

I'm confused. Feinstein is the San Franciscan Senator, no...?

No, Boxer is definitely the San Franciscan.

Feinstein became mayor of San Francisco after one of her allies decided the current mayor was too liberal and assassinated him.

No, Boxer is definitely the San Franciscan.

Boxer doesn't live in San Francisco.

I'm referring to ideology, not geography WRT Feinstein/Boxer.

Her district was mostly the north bay, where she lived. Now she doesn't live in the SF bay area any more. Even though her politics are a closer fit for SF than our other Senator, she was definitely not the mayor of San Francisco.

Feinstein was a right-wing mayor, just like Gavin Newsom.

All the Republican candidates in all the competitive races (this list is incomplete):
FL: Connie Mack
IN: Richard Mourdock (I was pulling for Lugar in the primary but he lost)
MA: Scott Brown
MI: Pete Hoekstra
MO: Sarah Steelman
MT: Denny Rehberg
NE: Deb Fischer (once again, not my first choice in the primary, but she won).
NV: Dean Heller
OH: Josh Mandel
TN: Bob Corker
TX: David Dewhurst (unless Ted Cruz wins the runoff)
UT: Orrin Hatch (unless he loses the primary or has lost already)
VA: George Allen
WI: Tommy Thompson

Only states that've already held primaries, split between two colors means I'm currently undecided.

Same as Oldies, except I supported Mourdock in the primary and have always supported Cruz even before Deweyhurst announced.

Wait, I thought you were the arch-moderate conservative? You certainly seem that way over on AH. Surprised that you're at lot more conservative here.

Anyway, here's my picks for Senate:

Arizona: Richard Carmona (D)
California: Dianne Feinstein (D) (I guess, not excited about a nearly 80 year old New Democrat)
Connecticut: Chris Murphy (D)
Delaware: Tom Carper (D)
Florida: Bill Nelson (D) (I guess, not too enthused about him either)
Hawaii: Mazie Hirono (D)
Indiana: Joe Donnelly (D)
Maine: Angus King (I)
Maryland: Ben Cardin (D)
Massachusetts: Elizabeth Warren (D) (very excited about this one)
Michigan: Harley Mikkelson (G)
Minnesota: Amy Klobuchar (D)
Mississippi: Albert Gore (D)
Missouri: Claire McCaskill (D)
Montana: Jon Tester (D) (he's surprisingly better than I thought)
Nebraska: Bob Kerrey (D) (I guess he's the only one who can win, but I'd prefer someone else)
Nevada: Shelley Berkley (D)
New Jersey: Ken Wolski (G) (mostly because I'm sure Menendez will win)
New Mexico: Martin Heinrich (D)
New York: Kirsten Gillibrand (D)
North Dakota: Heidi Heitkamp (D)
Ohio: Sherrod Brown (D)
Pennsylvania: Bob Casey (D) (again, I wish there was a more liberal choice)
Rhode Island: Sheldon Whitehouse (D)
Tennessee: Phil Bredesen (D)
Texas: No idea, I don't like any of the Democrats. Not enough info to form a good opinion.
Utah: Scott Howell (D) (He doesn't have a chance though)
Vermont: Bernie Sanders (I)
Virgina: Tim Kaine (D)
Washington: Maria Cantwell (D)
West Virgina: John Raese (R) (At least he's honest about being a GOPer. Joe Manchin isn't.)
Wisconsin: Tammy Baldwin (D)
Wyoming: No idea; none of the non-Republican candidates have a Wikipedia page Tongue

Quite the hackish endorsement map. The candidates in Michigan are horrible, I simply couldn't vote for either of them. Indiana too, I was disappointed with Lugar being primaried, Donnelly and Mourdock are very 'meh'. I quite like Tim Kaine and Bob Casey, so I could 'cross the aisle' and lend my vote to them, the Utah Dem' vote is just me being a hipster.
