Sorry to editorialize a bit, but I do think this is the "number ten" seat this November.

Well if this is indeed going to be #10, you all need to settle in for a long wait because it's going to take us at least a week or so to count all the ballots.

We could also have a situation where Rossi leads on election night and then as King County absentees trickle in Murray pulls ahead and wins it. What fun that would be! Cheesy

Polls have been pretty far apart on this race. I guess the recent Murray surge could have been very temporary, but I'll wait to see some other pollsters poll this race before I say that Rossi has the lead.

Rossi is clearly gaining....whether or not he currently has the lead is irrelevant.

I agree. But this is a tossup and I still think Murray will win. But this seat will likely be the deciding seat as to who has the majority next session.

At this point, I think that's wishful thinking.

So annoying.

Ha, it would be funny if our mail voting system caused the entire country to wait several weeks to find out who is in control of the Senate. Tongue

I'll editorialize here and say voting by mail, e-voting, and early voting are wrong.  Absentee voting is one thing, but we have an election day.  I think that should be the only day votes should be cast.  That's just me and I know others will disagree.

As for Rossi, he's gaining, but I'm not sure if he can build an edge big enough to overcome the King County votes.

I'd totally be down for Rossi losing another ridiculously close one.

Looks like King County is going to have to "find" some votes this time around.

Today, Murray was just endorsed for Re-Election by the Seattle Times!!!

This is huge, since the Seattle Times endorsed Rossi twice for Governor!

Or it would be huge if newspaper endorsements actually mattered at all.

It is huge, it has a daily circulation of 250,000 copies.

So? I highly doubt that anyone is sitting around thinking "I was going to go for Rossi, but now that the Seattle Times has endorsed Murray I'm going to vote for her!" Newspaper endorsements are worthless, with the odd exception of the Manchester Union Leader.

Not all 250,000 readers of course, but some of them will.  It would be naive to think that nobody listens to the media.

The Seattle Times freaken loved Rossi during 2004 and 2008 elections.  Even though their flipped endorsement won't sway the election, it may possibly be a big sign of what's to come November.

It would be even more naive to think that this has any real chance of affecting the outcome of the election. People simply don't listen to newspaper endorsements anymore.

They also endorsed Murray in 2004.

You're grasping at straws if you think this will have any effect at all.

Nobody?  Really?  The Times made their case, it will sway some undecideds.  And as I said, it won't decide the election, but this still isn't a good sign for Rossi.
